Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Controller to
lead our Accounting and Accounts Payable (AP) teams. The Controller
will be responsible for building and augmenting business and
accounting processes, systems and controls while ensuring that core
accounting functions are optimized for the agency. The Controller
will be directly responsible for all aspects of accounting and will
work side by side with the accounting team to complete month-end
close in a timely manner. The incumbent must be self-motivated,
obsessive about details and accuracy, willing to get down in the
weeds with the team, and an expert in generally accepted accounting
principles. This role will report to the CFO.This is a full time,
exempt, benefit eligible position.LifeLong Medical Care is a large,
multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich
history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a
wonderfully diverse patient community. Our patient-centered health

aspects of the financial close process and preparation of financial
statements and supporting schedules to deliver accurate and timely
results to the leadership team.Analyzes and interprets internal
financial data, making recommendations on changes to improve
internal systems and organizational fiscal performance.Identifies
gaps and implements improved accounting systems. Defines and owns
the migration from Financial Edge to a new accounting system within
the first 12-16 months.Performs regular audits of major accounting
functions (i.e. billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll,
etc.) to ensure standards are being met.Hires, trains, supervises,
and conducts performance evaluations for staff.Works closely with
CFO in establishing policies and procedures for the management of
accounting practices within the organization. Stays current on
federal, state and local regulations affecting the healthcare
industry, specifically those with direct impact on the fiscal
management of LifeLong and updates policies as appropriate.Works
with accounting team to prepare and furnish documentation to
auditors and drive the overall audit process.Ensures the security
and protection of financial data for the purpose of Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance.Maintains
vendor agreements and manages relationships to control expenditures
affecting the financial performance of the organization.Performs
other duties as assigned.10+ years accounting or finance
experience, including nonprofits with both public & private
fundingSeasoned leader with hands-on approachOutstanding

Experience in healthcare industryEducation and ExperienceBachelor's
degree in Accounting or related field required. Master's degree in
Accounting and/or Certified Public Accountant strongly
preferredExperience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center
a plus
