nonprofit sector!Key Responsibilities: - Work with government
contracting officers to clarify all administrative and financial
requirements contained in proposals, agreements and amendments. -
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contracts and
related reporting requirements. - Communicate performance to
Finance Director and Program Directors on a monthly basis,
including surplus or shortfalls, analyze and confirm allowable
strategies for adjustment. - Work with accounting staff to
implement and maintain tracking and administrative processes to
assist the programs in managing agreements and ensure timely
submission of all deliverables and agency approval of extensions
and budget changes. - Reconcile financial information, including
matching components, to all agreements, identify variances,
investigate, and resolve accounting errors or discrepancies and
ensure that properly documented adjustments are made, and review
financial documentation to ensure compliance. - Organize and
maintain original documents and financial records for all
agreements, including sub-contracts and sub-awards, consistent with
Bonita House and external agency requirements.Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. from an accredited four-year college in Business,
Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of two year relevant experience in non-profit or
government accounting, Budget preparation and management, grants
administration, or an equivalent combination.
- Experience using accounting and financial reporting
systems.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
and current accounting rules and regulations as applies to
nonprofits.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the most
current versions of Windows and Office (Word and Excel) and ability
to use the internet effectively. Strong Excel skills and financial
modeling.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to
interact positively and professionally with others
- Versatility, flexibility, and an ability to work in an
environment of constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently; self-motivation to follow-up and
follow-through with tasks
- Ability to analyze problems, gather information, assess
alternatives, and develop solutions
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects
concurrently and meet deadlines under pressure
- Knowledge of unrestricted and restricted funding sources
- Ability to gather and analyze data in order to produce reports
and make improvement recommendations
- Ability to understand complexities of grant contracts
- Experience with HUD grants preferred
- Must have a valid California Driver License, a driving record
acceptable by the Agency's insurance company, and proof of personal
vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to meet Immigration Reform Act of 1986
