visit . Departmental Overview The Department of Intercollegiate
Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and
sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more
than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports
programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics
Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Director, Financial
Operations. Description of Position: This position is responsible
for the processing and servicing of a variety of operational,
financial, and budgeting transactions and services, including
cashiering, accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections,
data collection, data entry, analysis, review and control, customer
servicing, and reporting. This position will analyze the
department's operational initiatives, processes, policies and
procedures; and work as a project manager amongst department
stakeholders, gathering requirements, providing strategic
direction, and implementing a workable solution. Reporting to the
Chief Financial Officer, Athletics, this position is responsible
for the day-to-day management, activities, and efficiency of the
following units: Travel, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Financial
Reporting. As the supervisor of these units, position sets the work
priorities, resolves escalated issues, and manages workload of

- Responsible for management of the following units: Travel,
Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Financial Reporting.
- Trains, develops, and evaluates staff to ensure effective and
efficient operations.
- Ensures departmental adherence to university, Pac-12, and NCAA
policies and procedures.
- Responsible for budget oversight, department expenditures
(purchasing & reimbursements), and accounting chartstrings.
- Responsible for internal and external financial reporting
including completing the implementation of reporting software.
- Working with the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for
the analysis, creation, and implementation of financial and
operations policies, processes, and initiatives that impact the
department. Required Qualifications
- Must have broad knowledge of financial policies, practices and
systems, especially as related to policy, accounting, and
regulatory compliance requirements.
- Requires skills in budgeting, reporting and analytics,
accounting, and bookkeeping.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Client-service oriented, good listening, critical thinking, and
analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, manage
and prioritize work, and delegate work appropriately.
- Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work
effectively across the organization at all levels.
- Strong management skills to supervise multiple sub-units and
achieve maximum efficiency out of supervisees.
- Expertise in the Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years experience or
training.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position. Preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Pac-12 and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent
experience/training.
- Previous experience working in Intercollegiate Athletics.

of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a
salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This
range takes into account the wide range of factors that are
considered in making compensation decisions including but not
limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education,
licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and
other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an
individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range
for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final
candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary or
hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this
position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00.
- This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), career position
that is eligible for full UC benefits.
- This position is exempt and paid monthly.
