JOB DESCRIPTION

The Payment Control Analyst will be the Enterprise liaison between Information Technology, Legal, Operations, Finance and external banks, to ensure payments are made timely and accurately, monitoring trends in payment cycles, troubleshooting record accuracy, and acting as point-person to resolve issues related to payment control and 1099s. Additional responsibilities include analyzing data, generating reports, and conducting research to respond to external and internal requests, enabling managerial decision-making, and driving process improvements related to payment optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs and validates payment cycles, reconciles claims payment cycles, monitors banking interfaces and ensures timely payment to providers and members
  • Collaborates with functions across the Enterprise to troubleshoot and resolves payment and banking interface issues
  • Determines and schedules jobs necessary to generate payments and related documents for the year, in accordance with internal and regulatory policies; informs all stakeholders
  • Validates job parameters for payment cycles
  • Manages requests to divert payments requiring additional handling
  • Ensures providers' and vendors' timely and accurate filing of tax reporting for the Enterprise, including corrections and response to inquiries; ensures proper back-up withholding if applicable
  • Supports internal and external audits, as necessary
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements to achieve operational efficiency, summarizes analysis and makes recommendations to management
  • Analyzes and prepares reports and data analytics to stakeholders
  • Works with Information Technology (IT) team to resolve production issues, assesses and implements system enhancements and performs testing, in a timely manner

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years of experience w/Bachelor's degree
    • Ability to assess risks and escalate to stakeholders accordingly
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Effectively coordinate work and communicate across functions and levels in the organization
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products; ability to flex between various software applications
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
      Base Pay Information

      The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $52,000 - $104,300
