this position is $135,236 to $150,000 per annum.Stanford University

Stanford's Business Affairs provides administrative policies,
infrastructure, systems, services, and support for the benefit of
the university community.Financial Management Services (FMS), a
department within Business Affairs, is responsible for creating an
ecosystem which promotes innovative and sound financial
administration policies and practices that balance controls,
compliance, and customer service. FMS is primarily responsible for
financial policy oversight, quality assurance and financial
services at Stanford University and its affiliated entities. It
also serves as a liaison to the hospitals and the Stanford Linear
Accelerator Center (SLAC). The FMS work environment is grounded by

can thrive.JOB PURPOSEFMS is a partner on the long-term strategy to
plan, replace, and implement new cloud-based solutions for several
enterprise-wide systems. Implementation of the new cloud-based HCM
application is sponsored by University HR, Financial Management
Services and University IT.The Business Intelligence Analyst is a
key member of the Financial Systems & Reporting (FSR) team within
the FMS group. FSR seeks an analyst to support the Pinnacle project
which will transition the university HR, Timekeeping and Payroll
systems to Oracle Cloud. The analyst will support reporting
integration efforts, including testing and operationalization of
new reports, as well as testing of finance data flows between
payroll and the university data warehouse. This also includes
supporting projects parallel to Pinnacle, mainly the OBI retrofit
project, operational reporting and data governance updates.CORE
DUTIESYour Responsibilities Will Include:
- Perform assigned activities involving decision support systems,
query and reporting, online analytical processing, statistical
analysis, forecasting, and data mining.
- Manipulate data into user-friendly formats for diverse
audiences and uses, collect and study data and produce analytics
solutions for organizational monitoring, improvement, efficiency,
and/or decision-making.
- Develop insightful business intelligence reports (KPIs,
metrics, adhoc queries), dashboards, scorecards, continuous
monitoring (thresholds), and/or ad hoc analyses.
- Clean and transform data as required to deliver actionable
information.
- Collaborate with application developers, end users, vendors,
and management to ensure the creation and delivery of business
intelligence solutions.
- Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed end
users and management to identify and document current information
flows, data models, reporting systems, user populations, and
coordinate with current and future initiatives impacting
reporting.
- Originate and coordinate data governance/stewardship
assignments.
- Use reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic
data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for a range of
complex data problems (e.g.: input errors or inadequate field
edits), and recommend possible solutions and communicate their
organizational impact.
- Perform fit-gap analysis comparing existing reporting solutions
with BI strategy and assess compliance with best practices and
established standards.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of new BI analysis and
reporting systems, upgrades, enhancements and change requests;
plan, conduct and document results of testing.
- This position may be heavily involved with the following
applications: Oracle, OBI, ServiceNow, SQL, Tableau, Incorta,
Python, RStudio. Knowledge on how to gather data from these and
other systems is highly desirable.Note: Not all unique aspects of

REQUIREMENTSEducation & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree plus three years of applicable experience, or
a combination of education and relevant work experience.Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes
and workflow.
- Ability to understand and apply the software development
lifecycle and project management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate
into BI reporting and analysis solutions.
- Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and
developing problem solving and analytical thinking
capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability with enterprise application and database
driven applications.
- Experience with relational and dimensional logical data
modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of and ability using MS Office; analytical
and business intelligence programs such as OBIEE, business objects,
Tableau, Python, etc..
- Extensive background and experience with report and analysis
design and application of User Interface and User Experience best
practices.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Experience at Stanford University and/or Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft
HRMS and Oracle HCM is preferred.Certifications and Licenses:
