position is $96,500 - $227,400 (9-month academic year salary);
however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would
yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to

of California, Berkeley invites applications for four faculty
positions as a part of a cluster hiring initiative in "Asian
American and Pacific Islander Transpacific Futures." The cluster
will consist of a tenure track (Assistant Professor) position in
the Department of Ethnic Studies, a tenure track (Assistant
Professor) position in the School of Public Health, a tenure track
or tenured (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) position in
the School of Education, and a tenured (Associate or Full
Professor) position in the Department of Geography. The Asian
American and Pacific Islander Transpacific Futures Cluster
initiative seeks to ensure that UC Berkeley is at the forefront of
this consequential research area. This cluster will foster
interdisciplinary and evidence-based research on the capacities and
challenges of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities to
strengthen their communities, address their social conditions, and
shape the futures of California, the U.S., and
Asian-Pacific-American relations. The Department of Ethnic Studies
seeks an historian of Asian American and/or Pacific Islander
politics and community-driven change, at the rank of Assistant
Professor. Understanding Asian American and Pacific Islander
politics and community-driven change expansively as taking myriad
distinct forms across local, national, regional, transnational and
other scales, the department welcomes applications from scholars
working on histories within and across this range. The School of
Public Health seeks an Assistant Professor with a focus on issues
of health and social justice in relation to Asian American and/or
Pacific Islander well being, particularly within the contexts of
immigration and migration. The School of Education seeks an
Assistant, Associate, or a Full Professor who examines issues of
education in Asian American and/or Pacific Islander communities.
The Department of Geography seeks an Associate or Full Professor
with expertise in pertinent subject areas, including but not
limited to Pacific Islander studies, Asian diasporas, migration,
capitalism, histories of imperialism, labor, social movements,
immigration, and environmental change. The departments and schools
are committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including
dual career couples and single parents. We are also interested in
candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have
taken time off for family reasons, or who have achieved excellence
in careers outside academia. Qualifications Basic qualifications
(required at time of application): J.D., Ph.D., M.D., (or
equivalent international degree), or enrolled in J.D., Ph.D., M.D.,
or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of
application. Preferred qualifications: Successful applicants are
expected to develop research agendas and collaborate across
disciplines to advance initiatives in the areas of Asian American
