Job Description Job Description Gymnastics Instructor Location: Watsonville, California Schedule: Flexible; begins with shadowing and filling in for the current instructor Target Start for Independent Classes: Early 2026 Employment Type: Part-time About the Role We’re seeking an energetic Gymnastics Instructor to support our preschool and early elementary classes. You’ll start by shadowing and subbing in our existing blocks to learn our progressions, equipment setup, safety protocols, and parent communication. The goal is to launch your own class schedule in early 2026 . Class Levels Turtles: Parent Tot (ages 1–2) Guppies: Ages 3–4 Minnows: Ages 5–6 Sharks: Ages 7–8 Current Class Blocks (for shadowing/subbing) Tuesdays: 8:45–12:15, 2:30–5:15 Wednesdays: 8:30–12:00, 2:30–5:15 Thursdays: 8:45–11:15, 2:30–5:15 Hours are flexible based on your availability; coverage needs may vary week to week. What You’ll Do Lead safe, upbeat classes that build gross motor skills , body awareness , and foundational gymnastics (rolls, balances, locomotion, basic bar/beam/vault/floor progressions). Spot and assist safely; adjust drills for varied abilities within the same class. Facilitate parent participation and coaching tips in Turtles (Parent Tot) sessions. Maintain equipment setup/tear-down , rotations, and clear traffic flow. Track skills, celebrate progress, and communicate positively with families. Uphold safety rules, sanitization standards, and facility policies. Collaborate on class placements , seasonal showcases, and scheduling. You Have Experience teaching youth gymnastics , preschool movement, cheer, dance, or similar coaching; or strong youth coaching experience with willingness to train in gymnastics progressions. Excellent classroom management and warm, clear communication with kids and parents. Reliability, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset. Ability to lift/move mats and be on your feet for multiple class blocks. Must Get Background check required per policy. Schedule & Availability Begin with shadowing and subbing in the listed blocks. Build toward your own classes in early 2026 (we’ll co-create a schedule around your availability). Additional weekday or occasional weekend availability is a plus, not required.
