Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Loads & Dynamics Senior Manager (Level M) to join the Flight Systems Capability team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will report to the BDS Flight Systems Capability Senior Director as the Fixed Wing Loads & Dynamics Senior Manager, supporting technical statement of work across multiple BDS Fixed Wing aircraft programs and performing Flight Capability Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA) for the Loads & Dynamics (L&D) sub-discipline associated with those programs. Capability RAA includes Talent Management, Design Practices, Tools & Processes, Model Based Engineering (MBE), and Technical Excellence. This position will have direct report managers who will lead engineers and teams dedicated to Fixed Wing program execution. Position Responsibilities Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Loads & Dynamics (L&D). Provides technical leadership at the capability level for BDS Fixed Wing L&D content. Provides the resources needed to support Fixed Wing L&D statement of work. Develops and maintains skill health assessments and integrated staffing plans to meet forecasted resource needs. - Leads employee development and engagement to support career growth, retention objectives, recognition and empowerment. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers. Lead efforts for design issue resolution, requirements issue resolution, production design issues and independent technical reviews, as needed by programs. Lead multiple efforts that are internally funded and funded by external contracts. Lead efforts that are proprietary and will require obtaining a security clearance. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Help ensure technical correctness and consistency of products across the portfolio. Develop and implement methods to avoid and resolve complex technical issues that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation. Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management and leads process improvements. Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. This position may require occasional travel. This position allows limited telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location option. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related technical area 10 years minimum experience in Loads & Dynamics engineering At least 5 years of experience leading a team of engineers as a manager or team lead Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Ability to provide proactive leadership in a dynamic environment to drive technical excellence. Competencies that include: adaptability, building a successful team, communication, cross functional partnerships, customer focus, decision making, gaining commitment, leading via vision and values, planning and organizing, systems thinking, and implementing work standards. Technical competencies in engineering processes, engineering knowledge and comprehension, process management skills, product knowledge, and project leadership. Experience as an engineering manager with direct reports Project management experience and familiarity with program management best practices, including EVM Strategic planning and implementation experience Change management experience and ability to influence outcomes to achieve strategic objectives Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
