The St. Louis, MO Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Design Integration Team is responsible for leading various tasks including but not limited to analysis, concept development, design implementation, and verification tasks on various Boeing Defense programs.

This is an experienced Senior (level 5) Engineering position. Primary responsibilities include identification, analysis, requirements allocation, coordination, application, and verification of E3 design requirements on various communication systems, sensors, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems, and components to ensure compliance with system performance requirements. Responsibilities also include E3 program leadership, E3 program planning, authoring E3 support documentation, continuous program E3 oversight and visibility, and product manufacturing support.

The position requires interfacing with multiple disciplines across The Boeing Company (Engineering, Product Support, Manufacturing, etc.), external customers, suppliers, and multiple levels of the organization to manage compliance to design integration requirements. This position also requires the ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers on the team. As a member of the St. Louis E3 Design Integration Team, additional responsibilities may include E3 research and development activities supporting advanced programs. Individuals will be expected to manage assignments within allocated budgets, on schedule, and with high quality results. Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering process knowledge, application, and experience are required.

Additional Responsibilities Include: Develops and validates requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures Develops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements Provides support to products throughout their life cycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested Supports project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project status Writes appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business
Export Control:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Posses a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree Engineering experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) Willing to Travel Domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): B.S Degree or higher in Electrical/Aerospace Engineering or Physics Experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, DO-160, IEC-61000, and FCC part 15 Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Experience with written and verbal communication and leading projects, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver results Experience working within an engineering organization Experience with lightning testing and analysis Previous experience with RF systems and antenna simulation, integration, and testing Experience with complex electromagnetic and RF modeling and simulation tools such as Ansys EMIT or Altair FEKO
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
