Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dependable and motivated Test Engineer who is hands-on and excited to jump in to a variety of roles as needed. The job will involve a wide variety of activities from electrical measurement and circuit board rework, to measuring electrical and magnetic fields generated by the human brain, to building, automating, and maintaining measurement and production tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronics and will be enthusiastic about taking a hands-on approach to learning new skills.RequirementsResponsibilities:

  • Assist with electrical measurements of sensor chips and printed circuit boards using both standard measurement hardware as well as custom-built systems
  • Take magnetic measurements of equipment and people
  • Develop automated test systems and other tools to help accelerate system development
  • Rework, repair, and modify printed circuit board
  • Use, maintain, and train other employees on specialized tools like wirebonders and electromagnets
  • Design and build custom parts using on-site 3D printers or outsourced machining services
  • Build test fixtures and other laboratory equipment from sample holders, to magnetic shields
  • Generate and revise datasheets with system specificationsCore Skills and Experience:
    • Ability to pick things up quickly and dive into tasks without needing to be an expert
    • Experience with electrical measurement tools multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
    • Comfortable with building and breaking things to support shifting priorities and projectsBonus Qualifications:
      • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
      • Experience with programming and data analysis in Python or other programming languages
      • Experience with any of the following types of equipment: wirebonders, probe stations, electromagnets, magnetometers, electroencephalographs, magnetoencephalographs
      • Experience with soldering of printed circuit boards, especially with surface-mount components
      • Experience with high-frequency measurement equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and function generators
      • Ability to read and understand component datasheets, electrical schematics, and block diagrams
