Job Description:
AirCapture -is -developing on-site -direct air capture (DAC)
systems -that -pull -climate-changing CO2---from the atmosphere
-and -make it immediately available for industrial and commercial
processes. - We -provide -a greener, more cost-effective feedstock
to our customers -and -aim -to -make atmospheric carbon dioxide
removal at gigaton-scale economically viable -on a greatly
accelerated time frame. -The market for materials made with
atmospheric carbon is poised to grow dramatically -- come join our
efforts to enable this growth! -This Mechanical Engineer will work
on the development of DAC systems and the design of CO2 processing
technologies, collaborating with a team of technologists across
multiple fields. - In addition, they will be responsible for
supporting the conceptualization, design, prototyping and
manufacturing of the DAC systems. This is a technical role that
involves assisting the company with technology development and
commercialization, and identifying necessary resources. - As a key
member of our fast-growing company, this Mechanical Engineer will
be eligible for equity-based awards, in addition to a regular
salary and full company benefits.Position Requirements
- Detailed design & analysis of DAC system mechanisms & fluidic
systems
- Ability to quickly identify efficient solutions to mechanical
problems
- Ownership of the various system component SolidWorks CAD
models
- Ability to generate drawing templates & detailed drawings
(GD&T experience preferred)
- Deployment & maintenance of SolidWorks PDM databaseEducation &
Experience
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years experience as a mechanical or design engineer in
related fields - deep mechanical aptitude is required including a
broad knowledge of engineering materials and design for
manufacturability (sheet metal, die casting, structural steel
frames, weldments, etc.)
- Experience in engineering roles relating to conceptualization,
design, testing and commissioning of systems involving process
fluids, mechanical motion control and/or process controlPreferred
Skills & Experiences
- Machine design experience (Pneumatics, bearing systems,
etc.)
- Experience integrating fans, compressors, and chillers
- Experienced using structural FEA (CFD is a plus!)
- Deep knowledge of 3D modeling in SolidWorks
- Ability to read & generate P&IDs
- Knowledge of applicable standards for CO2 processing, piping
systems, rotary machines and refrigeration.
- CO2 processing technologies (gas, liquid and supercritical
fluids)
- Ability to work collaboratively alongside great teammates Note:
-this -position requires physical activities including climbing
stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment,
-operating machinery -and lifting and carrying loads of 40 -lbs -or
