About AirCaptureAirCapture is developing on-site direct air capture (DAC) systems that pull climate-changing CO2 from the atmosphere, cutting out the supply chain and impurities in product, for industrial and commercial CO2 processes. We're starting by addressing the -$30Bn merchant CO2 market in our first commercial phase and our product is months away from launch. We're growing rapidly to meet the demands of our customers and U.S DoE grants. Our HQ is a 12,000 sq ft. beautiful office and warehouse space for rapid prototype and iteration located in West Berkeley and within walking distance of great restaurants (we're admittedly foodies).

About the RoleThis is a technical role that leads and coordinates the development for large scale implementation of our novel direct air capture (DAC) systems and CO2 processing technologies. You will collaborate with our highly proficient team of engineers from a variety of well-respected organizations and firms to support the conceptualization, design, prototyping and manufacturing of the DAC systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead the process design of new, fully integrated systems for atmospheric CO2 capture and related downstream conversion
• Lead process design and manage engineering workflow with other disciplines, vendors, external EPC contractors, and clients
• Develop cost model and CapEx / OpEx feasibility studies based on FEED and ROM analyses
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (domestically and internationally)
  Education & Experience
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 10 years experience as a chemical or process design engineer in related fields
  • Expert in plant design and complex process plants development
  • U.S. Citizenship Required. Please kindly note that there are no exceptions for this requirement.
    Preferred Skills & Experiences
    • Process plant design, simulation, and optimization
    • Experience in thermal fluid design, refrigeration and systems engineering
    • Piping system design and simulation experience
    • CFD and thermofluid analysis expertise strongly preferred
    • HAZOP analysis and implementation
    • Multidisciplinary engineering project management experience
    • Experience with DOE or DOD funded projects
      
      Note: this position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of 40 lbs or more
