capture (DAC) systems that pull climate-changing CO2 from the
atmosphere and make it immediately available for industrial and

thriving cultural attractions.About the RoleThe Senior Mechanical
Engineer is a specific role focused on the development of the FEED
package, basic design and cost model for large scale DAC systems
and CO2 processing technologies, collaborating with a team of
technologists across multiple fields. In addition, s/he will be
responsible for supporting the conceptualization, design,
prototyping and manufacturing of the DAC systems. This is a
technical role that involves assisting the company with technology
development and commercialization, identifying necessary resources
and supporting the company's manufacturing team.As a key member of

- Design, simulate and optimize mechanical components for the
deployment of large scale Direct Air Capture and related downstream
conversion plant(s)
- Subject matter expert in plant design and complex process
plants development
- Mechanical design of integrated plant systems for capturing CO2
from the atmosphere and converting it into products and
materials
- Leading mechanical design for FEED package and managing
engineering workflow with other disciplines, vendors, external EPC
contractors and clients
- Start up and troubleshoot first-of-a-kind production facilities
for CO2 capture and conversion
- Prepare and review procedures, design specs, best practices,
standard drawings on an on-going basis for safety, quality,
performance and production efficiency
- Design and simulation of interconnecting piping system
- Develop cost model and CapEx / OpEx feasibility studies based
on FEED analysis
- Develop plans in accordance with customer requirements using
value analysis, and other techniques including PFMEA, HAZOP, and
control plans
- Lead continuous improvement efforts of the company through
value analysis, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of engineering
processes, procedures and techniques
- Develop and implement manufacturing documentation and other
operator instructions
- Basic understanding of project management and management of
technical integrators
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (domestically and
internationally)Position Requirements

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- At least 10 years experience as a mechanical or design engineer
in related fields - a deep mechanical aptitude is required,
including a broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical
properties and a strong understanding of the FEED and EPC
processes
- CFD and thermofluid analysis expertise strongly preferred -
Pressure vessel, heat exchanger and fix equipment design
expertise
- 5+ years as of experience in process plant design, simulation
and optimization
- Experience developing cost models and CapEx / OpEx studies
- Great communication, proactive problem solving skills, an
active contributor to our company's developing culture, team
player
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary
engineering and technical teamAdditional Preferred Skills &
Experience
- Plant layout simulation and related software acquaintance is a
plus
- Experience in thermal fluid design, refrigeration and systems
engineering
- Experience in gas separations, liquefaction and compression
systems
- Rotary machine experience such as pumps, compressors, turbines,
expanders is a huge plus
- Piping system design and simulation experience is huge
plus
- Expertise with CO2 processing, including compression,
dehumidification, liquefaction and sequestration
- HAZOP analysis and implementation
- Experience with DOE or DOD funded projects Note: this position

stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and
