CA USA About the role The maintenance mechanic is involved in the
successful daily completion of assigned work either on a priority
basis or continuing basis as assigned by the Maintenance and
Reliability Manager. There are no formal reports for this position
with the exception of work documentation as required to document
material and equipment requests as pertinent to the
job.Responsibilities A. Perform various mechanical maintenance
functions to include but is not limited to:i)Insulationii)Repair
rotating equipment including centrifugal and positive displacement
pumps, agitators, cooling fans and gear boxesiii)Heat exchangers
including the over pressure protection.iv)Installing and repairing
pipe work, both screwed and welded, in stainless and carbon
steel.v)Repairs to all types of valves and pneumatic
actuators.vi)Steam distribution equipment and condensate
collection.vii)Basic Weldingviii)Knowledge of plant utilities such
as boilers, cooling towers, compressors and waste water
treatment.ix)Basic electrical ability. Wiring 3-phase motor, change
fuses, ability to use a multi-meter.B. Execute work in a safe and
expedient manner according to the following priorities: Safety,
Quality then Production.About you --- High School Diploma or GED
Equivalent---Strong problem solving and math skills---Strong
equipment troubleshooting skills---Excellent communication (verbal
and written), time management and organizational skills---1-3 years
in related maintenance experience in oil, chemical, pharmaceutical
or process manufacturing facility, or a related technical
degree.---Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.---Ability to
take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace
defective parts.---Ability to read and understand repair manuals,
or parts catalogs as necessary.---Experience performing routine
maintenance.---Strong organizational and follow up
skills.---Professional presentation and attitude.---Ability to
maintain focus while working individually.---Strong time management
skills.---Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
without sponsorship.Working conditionsThe job is performed in a
manufacturing plant. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, heat,
sparks, oil, and smoke may occur. Protective safety equipment is
required including appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves, hardhat,
and goggles as needed. Activities include extended periods of
standing and extensive work with various devices and heavy
machinery.Physical requirementsAbility to frequently climb ladders
up to 15 feetAbility to frequently walk, stand, crouch, stoop, and
bendAbility to perform duties wearing weight restricted safety
equipment is requiredHearing and vision within normal ranges for
conversations and to receive ordinary informationHeavy lifting of
up to 50 lbs.Good manual dexterity to operate machinery, use hand
tools and measuring tools, and operate office equipment and
keyboardsAbility to apply good reasoning skills and apply general
