Job Description:


The Front Office Manager directly manages the Club's Guest Service Team. This position has an understanding of the hotel and the unique business model of the Berkeley City Club, but also of the competitive market, the hospitality industry and maximizing room revenue.


-Maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment at all times
-Manage and monitor activities of all front office employees, ensuring the adherence of standards of excellence and guidelines set forth in the employee handbook, Club policies and procedures, coaching, training and coaching where needed.
-Determine staffing requirements, interview and hire prospective team members
-Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties
-Ensure that at all times Team Members are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all Members, guests, Team Members and Managers
-Upholds the Club's commitment to hospitality
-Ensure the implementation of all Club and hotel policies
-Train, discipline and terminate of the Guest Services staff, as needed
-Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments and Mangers
-Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently and courteously
-Enforces that the Guest Services Team correctly handles all cash, credit and checks
-Daily hotel direct bill accounts reconciliation
-Fix discrepancies with hotel billings and postings
-Ensure that staff is trained and knowledgeable about Jonas and basic Accounting processes
-Monthly reconciling of travel agent commission invoices and coupon reconciliation
-Maintain a binder of relevant Jonas training material for convenient reference
-Establish and implement department policies, goals, objectives and procedures
-Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing the status daily. Analyze rate variance, monitor credit report and maintain close observation of daily house count. Monitor selling status of the house daily.
-Optimizing pricing recommendations, room rates and inventory as necessary
-Updating vendor information when there are changes to rates or terms
-Deliver optimized daily rate recommendations
-Adhering to handbook policies, payroll and staffing levels
-All other duties as assigned
