ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Assistant Front Office Manager is responsible for assisting the Front Office Manager with the effective management and direction of the guest service operations, providing great quality service, supervision of associates, guest services, and guest recovery. This position will oversee all operations during the PM shift, at times, this position also serves as the Manager on Duty. Qualified candidates must demonstrate genuineness for the team members and the guest alike. To be successful in this role, you must have working knowledge in guest-centric service, registration, multi line phone, night audit, and all rooms operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Manage all aspects of front desk operations for assigned shift. Schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.

+ A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

+ Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts including Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales and Marketing, Catering, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

+ Refined verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work a flexible schedule

+ Ensure the check-in/check-out experience is held to high guest satisfaction, verify guest reservations, address, and credit card information.

+ Must have knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area attractions in order to provide accurate information to all guests.

+ Monitor performance and recommend/initiate corrective and/or disciplinary action, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Alert management of potentially serious issues.

+ Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction.

+ Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.

+ Directly manages the Rooms management personnel and indirectly manages all subordinates within the department.

+ Responds to guest's complaints, solves problems, and works towards problem prevention and solutions.

+ Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time to interact with others; customers, employees and third parties.

+ Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions and training

+ Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.

+ Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are sued often. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

+ Minimum of two (2) years of Front Desk/Hotel experience including supervisory and/or management experience.

+ A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
