About The Role
The Public Programs Director serves as the lead staff person
ideating, managing, and overseeing Public Programs at Urban Adamah.
The Public Programs Director supervises a full-time Public Programs
Associate and Urban Adamah Residents work-trade hours.
PROGRAM DIRECTION
Developing and managing high quality, on-brand, mission aligned
programming, engaging and creating meaning for the broader
community. This includes planning -12-15 programs per month. Some
of these programs recur on a weekly or monthly basis, while others
are stand-alone, one time events.
Public programs encompass a wide range of single and multi-session
programs, some of which are developed and offered in collaboration
with other community organizations and partners. Programs include
but are not limited to:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
The Public Programs Director is also responsible for personally
hosting/staffing some events, including some weekend and evening
events. Additionally, the Director coordinates and manages event
staff for other programs, including educators, caterers, musicians,
caterers, and other program contractors and vendors. The Director
oversees and manages all event follow-up, evaluation, and
departmental budgeting.
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
The Director oversees and directly manages all administrative
elements of the Public Programs suite of activities. This includes,
but is not limited to:
ADDITIONAL ROLES
The Public Programs Director is in many cases the face of Urban
Adamah and plays an important role welcoming and helping
participants connect with one another. The Public Programs Director
may also be asked to assist with coordinating donor visits and
fundraising events.
RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The Public Programs Director manages Residents' work-trade hours
hosting and supporting public programs, retreats, and site use by
outside organizations and individuals. This work is done in close
collaboration with the manager of the Residency program, and
includes:

big picture of how programming furthers Urban Adamah's mission and
values, and to develop and maintain the processes required to
ensure the seamlessness of that work. You are equally excited about
stewarding existing programs, imagining and bringing to life new
program offerings, and managing each successfully.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time, benefited, and exempt position that includes
healthcare, holidays, and paid time off. The salary range for this
position is $84,000 to $95,000 per year. Comprehensive benefits
include:
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, exempt position. General hours of employment
are Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. However, the Public
Programs Director is responsible for programming that often takes
place on evenings and weekends and holidays. The schedule for this
role is variable and dependent on the Jewish calendar as well as
the program schedule. You will work with your supervisor to design
a schedule around planning meetings and programs. This role
requires you to work outside of the general hours of employment
and, on occasion, more than 40 hours per week to fulfill the duties
of the position.
SUPERVISION
This position is supervised by the Senior Director of Programs &
Innovation.
