Job brief:
Vertosa is growing and in need of a strategic VP of Finance. As a member of our senior management team, the candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our organization and ensuring it is well-positioned for future growth and success.
Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the executive management team to develop and implement financial strategies that support Vertosa's overall goals and financial performance.
  
• Develop and manage the financial plan, including budgets, forecasts, and models.
  
• Forecast future financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations on financial decisions.
  
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in line with accounting standards and regulations.
  
• Identify and manage financial risks by monitoring market conditions, developing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing relevant programs.
  
• Ensure the financial operations of the organization are aligned with the overall strategic direction of the organization.
  
• Ensure the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable and receivable, bank statements, payroll, and financial statements, are aligned with the organization's overall strategic direction.
  
• Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient cash is on hand to meet obligations and invest in growth opportunities. -
  
• Manage tax planning and compliance activities, including tax strategies, compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, and engagement with external tax advisors as needed.
  
• Lead and manage internal and external finance team members by setting goals, providing guidance and support, and ensuring the team has the necessary resources to succeed. -
  
  Job requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    
  • 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, including expertise in financial management and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and financial reporting.
    
  • Advanced skills with financial software and tools such as Excel and QuickBooks.
    
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work in a high-paced environment.
    
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting standards and regulations, specifically as they apply to the cannabis industry.
    
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze financial data and provide insights into the organization's financial health..
    
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to finance and non-finance professionals.
    
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a finance team while collaborating effectively with other executives.
    
  • Must be a passionate champion for cannabis, although Vertosa does not require cannabis consumption for any employees.
