Full Stack Development Program Director
This is a part-time, contract position with the potential to move into a full-time teaching role in Spring 2024.
The Role
As the Full Stack Program Director, you will assist with the development and execution of our revised Full Stack Development Associate of Science (AS) online degree program.
This role demands a passionate leader dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable education nationwide. You will work closely with industry and academic experts to craft a groundbreaking curriculum that prepares students for successful careers in tech and prepares them for continued education at four-year institutions. We're drawing inspiration from the best tech and engineering programs in the world, in order to design a new way to engage diverse students in engineering and computer science careers.
Responsibilities
Immediate Goals (November 2023-March 2024):


  • Curriculum Development & Maintenance: Establish program and course outcomes, oversee curriculum development, develop assessment plans and ensure alignment with industry standards.

    Advisory Board Creation and Management: Assist with the recruitment and management of our Full Stack Advisory board, including industry and academic leaders.

    • Faculty Recruitment & Hiring: Assist in faculty recruitment & selection, and onboarding & training.

      Upon Program Launch (March 2024):

      • Teaching, Student Support, and Retention: Teach up to 3 courses per quarter (beginning Spring 2024), maintain a positive learning atmosphere, and promote student success.
      • Student Support: Collaborate with Academic Operations and Student Support to enhance student progress, attendance, and satisfaction within the degree program.
      • Faculty Supervision & Support: Foster a positive, supportive work environment for faculty, including performance evaluation, feedback, and training.
      • General Administration and Program Support: Conduct faculty meetings, collaborate with departments and external stakeholders, and participate in accreditation activities.
      • Planning and Assessment: Set clear goals, review assessment data, and evaluate program outcomes.

        Reporting: Assist with reporting for regulatory compliance and accreditation.
        Compensation:
        This role will begin on a part-time basis as the program is designed and developed. Upon program launch (projected Spring 2024), the Program Director will move into a teaching and leadership role. Course load maximum: 3 courses per quarter.
        Part-Time Compensation (through March 2024):
        $10,000 stipend for program design and development.
        Full-Time Compensation (beginning Spring 2024):

        • $10,000 annual retainer
        • $8,000 per 4-credit course taught per 11-week quarter.

          Requirements

          • Master's degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
          • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in higher education and/or a related industry. Industry experience is strongly preferred.
          • Strong knowledge of Software Engineering and Information Technology labor market trends.
          • Experience in online education and course development.
          • Excellent communication skills.
          • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
          • Commitment to affordable and accessible education.
