generations.Role SummaryRivian is seeking a highly motivated and
experienced Principal Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer
to join our growing security team. In this role, you will be a key
leader in designing, implementing, and managing our IAM
infrastructure and services, ensuring secure and efficient access
to Rivian's systems and data for employees, customers, and
partners. You will play a critical role in defining and driving IAM
strategy and roadmap, while collaborating closely with various
stakeholders across the organization. This position will report
directly to our Chief Information Security Officer and can be
located in Palo Alto, Irvine, or Atlanta.Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Rivian's
IAM solutions, including identity lifecycle management,
authentication, authorization, access control, and privileged
access management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of IAM
engineers.
- Develop and maintain IAM policies, standards, and procedures in
alignment with industry best practices and regulatory
requirements.
- Evaluate and implement new IAM technologies and solutions to
enhance security and improve user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT Infrastructure,
Software Engineering, Legal) to integrate IAM solutions with
existing systems and applications.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify and
mitigate IAM risks.
- Act as point of escalation for IAM-related availability and
security incidents.
- Stay abreast of emerging IAM trends and
technologies.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or
a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with
at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of IAM concepts, protocols, and best
practices (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, MFA).
- Hands-on experience with leading IAM solutions (e.g., Okta,
Azure AD, SailPoint, Ping Identity).
- Experience with cloud-based IAM solutions (AWS, Azure,
GCP).
- Strong DevOps experience, including scripting and automation
(e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of security principles and risk
management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration
skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Pay
DisclosureSalary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants:
$218,800 - $312,500 (actual compensation will be determined based
on experience, location, and other factors permitted by
law)Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental,
and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time
employees, their spouses or domestic partners, and children up to
age 26. Full-time employee coverage is effective on the first day
of employment. Part-time employee coverage is effective the first
