Company Overview For more than 50 years, Insight Housing
(formerly, Berkeley Food & Housing Project) has provided a
comprehensive range of housing, food, and support services to help
those in need move from homelessness into a safe and affordable
home of their own. We serve in seven counties in the bay area -
Alameda County, San Francisco, Contra Costa County, Solano County,
Sacramento County, San Joaquin County and Amador County. We are

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Regional Director of
Residential, the Clinical Manager will be responsible for providing
care coordination and mental health support and consultation to
clients entering and/or residing at the Hope Center. - - -The Hope
Center includes a 32-bed Men's Shelter, 12 Veterans Transitional
Housing, 53 units of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) and the
Community Meals Program. The Clinical Manager will create a mental
health monitoring plan for clients who are identified as having
mental health needs during intake and throughout their residency.
This includes regular mental health check-ins and counseling during
the resident's stay. They will also provide information about
available mental health resources, including a walkthrough of the
County's Behavioral Health Care Services, which include, but are
not limited to, crisis and urgent care, drop-in and supportive
services, education and advocacy, and mental health education and
support. If a client is already connected to mental health care,
the Clinical Manager will reach out to their existing provider to
coordinate care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical,
and empowering relationship with all individuals served.
- Provide counseling and consultation to clients in collaboration
with Hope Center Management & Case Management Teams.
- In partnership with Regional Director of Residential, act as an
agency liaison with AC Healthcare Services Agency (HCSA) in the use
of the CHR.
- Assist in managing Community Healthcare Record (CHR) access and
use across all Insight Housing programming.
- Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager, PSH Program
Manager, Shelter & Food Services Program Managers and Tenancy
Support Services Staff/Case Managers to coordinate on-site services
and development of appropriate Housing Plans.
- Support a case load of 10-15 clients that will receive clinical
interventions, providing mental health screening at referral,
complete mental health assessment; including acting as a liaison to
current providers, identifying potential resources if needed,
completing necessary paperwork; assist with explanation of program
rules and relations and otherwise acclimate to the facility.
- Establish and maintain clear and effective communications with
clients, ensure that their needs are met, assist them in the
development and implementation of their treatment plans, and
prepare them for warm hand offs to housing providers or other
discharge plans.
- Provide informal counseling, focusing on the client's immediate
situation and needs.
- Provide Cognitive/Behavioral types of intervention allowing the
client to work toward achieving their immediate goals and
recognizing their strengths partnered closely with onsite
team.
- Provide mental health guidance to onsite teams in weekly case
conference meetings.
- Work with medical staff for appropriate hospital discharge
planning advocating on behalf of our residents to get the care they
require.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention. Appropriately
assess the escalation of a situation and de-escalate or make
appropriate decisions to manage the safety of others and self.
Interface with crisis/emergency responders as necessary.
- Provide training to Hope Center Program staff on mental health,
de-escalation techniques, motivational interviewing, working with
seniors, trauma-informed care and other topics relevant to the
delivery of quality support services.
- Work with one-two Clinical Interns annually, providing them
clinical supervision and support.
- Understand the 5150 process and collaborate with on-site
Services staff and external mental health providers, as
needed.
- Assist program management to create and maintain a safe and
professional working environment free of hostility, harassment, and
discrimination.
- Attend relevant Alameda County meetings to collaborate on
county housing initiatives, housing opportunities, resources and
housing barrier removal planning.
- Attend and participate in all meetings and trainings, as
assigned.
- -Complete and submit timesheets in a timely and accurate
manner.
- Work within the framework of BFHP's Code of Conduct.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications,
Skills and Abilities
- Master's in Social Work or Master's in Marriage and Family
Therapy. LCSW or LMFT required.
- A minimum of three years' experience working in a program
serving persons with a history of homelessness, physical and mental
disabilities. Such experience must be in the direct provision of
services to clients.
- Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation, preferably in a
social rehabilitation environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and
calendaring applications.
- Must have strong organizational and time management
skills.
- High level of independent thinking and judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills with a can do and
flexible attitude.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, multitask, maintain
confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain professional conduct, attitude and
appearance at all times. Special Requirements
- This position requires frequent driving. A valid California
driver license, reliable personal vehicle, current personal auto
insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and
reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability
policies.
- Must be able to receive and maintain criminal records

Compensation: $85,000-$90,000
