Experience: Required (Epic) Description: NICU Registered Nurse
Needed. Provides competent, compassionate, and cost-effective
patient care. Plans and coordinates delivery of care to maximize
efficient care delivery. Ensures the safety, comfort, personal
hygiene, and protection of patients. Maintains a safe environment
and sets priorities for patient care in complex situations. Serves
as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate
collaborative approaches to patient care. Coordinates involvement
of patients, families, and other health team members to manage care
effectively. Exercises clinical judgment and critical thinking in
all aspects of nursing and unit activities. Administers treatments,
medications, and performs nursing skills in a timely manner.
Maintains current knowledge of patient care status through clinical
rounds. Assures physicians are informed about significant changes
in patients' conditions. Identifies, observes, and monitors
patients at risk for adverse events. Conducts initial and ongoing
assessments of patients and families. Completes nursing assessments
within 24 hours of admission. Ensures that the nursing process is
individualized to meet all patient needs. Observes patients'
physical conditions and behaviors, interpreting information
appropriately. Develops and implements individualized plans of care
in collaboration with the healthcare team. Documents and
communicates patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes
effectively. Evaluates the effectiveness of care plans through
observation and communication. Modifies plans as appropriate in
collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to interact effectively with the
patient population served. Fulfills principal accountabilities
related to nursing practice and integration of security practices
in daily work.
