Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of
Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not
meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is
available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide
paternity leave coverage in an elementary school setting located in
Hayward, CA. This contract position spans the current school year
(CSY) and offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week with
8-hour workdays, Monday through Friday. Key responsibilities
include delivering specialized occupational therapy services to a
caseload of approximately 35 students, focusing on enhancing their
fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall functional
abilities to support academic success. The role involves
collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational
professionals to develop and implement individualized education
plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs. Desired Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy license or certification Experience
working in school-based settings, particularly elementary schools
Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques and
school-related goals Ability to manage a caseload of around 35
students effectively Strong communication and teamwork skills to
engage with multidisciplinary teams and families Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students'
occupational therapy needs Develop and implement individualized
treatment plans aligned with educational objectives Monitor student
progress and adjust interventions accordingly Provide consultative
services to staff and parents to support student development
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state
regulations This position offers a focused assignment covering
March and April, ideal for therapists seeking a short-term,
school-based contract in a supportive educational environment.
