The Boeing Company is currently seeking an **F-22 Lead Real Time Software Engineer**


F-22 Missions Systems team located in **Berkeley, MO.** This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.


This organization designs, develops, and demonstrates avionics solutions for the F-22 Raptor, the premier 5th gen air superiority fighter flown only by the United States Air Force (USAF). Your role will require you to work as a member of a cross-functional agile team to integrate cutting edge technologies to maintain the Raptors dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come.


Your team will be empowered with the Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAA) to implement a full capability as defined by our Modernization Road-map from cradle to grave.


Additionally, under the Raptor Agile Capability Release (RACR) contract, the F-22 is transforming its contracting and development approach to leverage software development tools, processes, and best practices used by Silicon Valley. Some of these include Amazon Web Services, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, and much more. This transformation creates growth and leadership opportunities. **Position Responsibilities:**


+ Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

+ Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system

+ Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

+ Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities

+ Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics

+ Leads software research and development projects

+ Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

+ Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

+ Trains and mentors others

+ Works under consultative direction


**This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.**


**Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:**


**This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)**


**Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):**


+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree

+ 5 years or more Experience programming in C++ and/or Ada

+ Strong communication skills

+ Capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities

+ Ability to obtain special program access

+ Strong Leadership & Technical skills

+ Willingness to mentor subordinate employees


**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**


+ Experience programming in Python and/or C#

+ Experience developing software for a United States Air Force customer

+ Experience with developing embedded software for operational flight programs (OFPs)


**Typical Education/Experience:**


+ Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience)

+ In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard


**Travel:**


This position has occasional travel to some partner and supplier sites around the United States but would be less than 10%.


**Relocation:**


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
