It's incredibly motivating to open the doors to residents and watch them thrive. -Dan Sawislak, Executive Director Overview: The Mobile Services Coordinator (MSC) supports RCD in providing safe and affordable housing to residents. The MSC is responsible for providing community resources and linkages, housing stability and eviction prevention to RCD residents who are in jeopardy of losing their housing. MSC works closely with internal staff as well with third party property managers. Major Job Responsibilities and Duties: Work with Residents and Community Organizations Provide resident coordination and referrals to residents at 18 scattered-site buildings in, Contra Costa and Alameda County on an as-needed basis. Implement core program/service components as outlined in the Resident Services program model. Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments), in order to guide them towards appropriate services and resources. Work collaboratively with residents to develop a plan working towards housing stability and eviction prevention. Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of resources in the following areas: health and wellness, economic stability employment and education, conflict resolution and resident relations, housing stability and eviction prevention to be made available in the community for residents' benefit. Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing individual services to residents and the community. Participate in and/or lead activities with partner agencies that build professional capacity and enhance working relationships. Data and Reporting Collect required data for designated program components and record data in Pangea, our online database accurately and timely. Evaluate and report outcomes of programs and services on a regular basis as required. Report child, dependent adult and elder abuse and neglect according to state law. Work with Property Management Staff on the following: Referrals and linkages Rental assistance needs Lease violations Outreach to residents in all scattered site buildings Frequent meetings with property managers and services partners General Responsibilities Work collaboratively with others in a team environment, respecting and valuing the perspectives and contributions of others. Develop effective working partnerships with religious, educational, and community groups and institutions to leverage resources. Function effectively in an environment with diverse cultures, multiple perspectives, and lines of authority. Motivate individuals to actively participate and take leadership in efforts to improve the community and increase self-determination. Accurately identify/assess resident assets and needs to connect them effectively to resources and help them set personal goals. Effectively organize and facilitate meetings and community gatherings. Demonstrate a high level of verbal, writing, and listening skills Perform basic computer functions using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Demonstrate a basic understanding of how to work with people with mental health, disabilities, substance abuse, and sensitive personal issues. Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting relationships with residents and staff Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills to all residents, staff, and partner agencies Qualifications: Applicants should have two or more years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Community organizing and community building with residents. Providing direct service and/or services referrals and linkages in an affordable housing community. Education: Minimum: Associate degree; or high school diploma / GED, with 5 years of experience in social work, social services, or a related field Desirable: Bachelor's degree Work Environment: Majority of time is spent on-site at various housing properties in the East Bay. Travel Requirements: The responsibilities of this position will require regular travel to off-site locations. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak and hear. Requires frequent use of a keyboard, computer monitor, and phone. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift up to twenty (20) pounds occasionally. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Other Requirements: Current TB Test (RCD will provide at the start date). Must have a car and valid driver's license, registration, and insurance. Must pass a background check.
