( ) has an exciting opening for a Lithography Systems Technical
Specialist to join our dynamic team. Join our vibrant team at the
Materials Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, where
we push the boundaries of computer chip manufacturing capabilities.
Our state-of-the-art EUV photolithography materials research center
is at the forefront of cutting-edge research. We are seeking a
skilled and versatile Lithography Systems Technical Specialist to
play a key role in coating different lithographic materials onto
wafers, measuring, developing, and processing them. What You Will
Do: As a Lithography Systems Technical Specialist, you will be part
of a multidisciplinary team responsible for executing detailed
experiments, focusing on wafer lithography and processing. You will
coat different lithographic materials onto wafers and perform
various measurements and analyses.
- Operating and maintaining EUV lithography exposure systems and
other semiconductor processing equipment.
- Working predominantly in a Class 1000 Clean Room.
- Collaborating with global scientific users, assisting them with
experimental plans and data interpretation.
- Reviewing and analyzing Excel sheets and different iterations
of experimental plans from users worldwide.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of processes
and techniques to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Using spin coating equipment to create and process thin-film
material samples.
- Engaging in both hands-on experimental work and data analysis,
contributing to a hybrid of shift work and experiments.
- Other dynamic duties as assigned. What is Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge in a field closely
related to the program.
- Proficiency in coating different lithographic materials onto
wafers and operating various technical instruments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with expertise
in data organization and analysis using tools like Excel, MATLAB,
or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate
effectively with team members and users worldwide.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment.
- Proven dependability, punctuality, and a strong work
ethic.
- Passion for science and technology, driving you to push the
boundaries of research. Desired Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant work and technical experience in a
multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in operating semiconductor processing equipment,
such as spin coaters, developers, bake plates, and
ellipsometers.
- Familiarity with operating an analytical Scanning Electron
Microscope and inspecting patterned wafers.
- Practical knowledge of photolithography exposure systems and
college-level optics concepts.
- Understanding of amateur photography concepts will be
advantageous.
- Prior experience in a darkroom photography lab would be a plus.

- This is a full-time, career appointment, exempt (monthly paid)
from overtime pay.
- This position is expected to pay $78,732-98,460 per year, which
fits within the full salary range of $78,732-$132,912 for the
N50.1. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the final
candidate's qualification and experience, including skills,
knowledge, relevant education, certifications, plus also aligned
with the internal peer group.
- This position may be subject to a background check. Any
