Job Description:
Who We AreNuro exists to better everyday life through robotics.
Founded in 2016, Nuro has spent eight years developing autonomous
driving (AD) technology and commercializing AD applications. The
Nuro Driver is our world-class autonomous driving system that
combines AD hardware with our generalized AI-first self-driving
software. Built to learn and improve through data, the Nuro Driver
is one of the few driverless autonomous technologies on public
roads today.Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Fidelity,
Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and other leading investors.
We've partnered with some of the world's most respected brands
including Uber, FedEx, Domino's, Walmart, Kroger, and
7-Eleven.About the Team
Our software organization is growing and we are looking for
talented engineers to join our autonomy team. As an autonomy
engineer, you will work on challenging problems alongside a
world-class team with a common real passion for advancing robotics
to improve the human experience.About the Role
The Autonomy sub teams we have New Grad openings for are:The
Perception ML Data team bridges machine learning innovation and
autonomy infrastructure to ensure our models learn from the most
relevant, diverse, and high-quality data. Your work will directly
impact how autonomous systems understand rare scenarios, adapt to
global geographies, and scale safely. As part of this team, you
will perform the following functions:
- Leverage VLMs to curate geographically diverse datasets
matching real-world driving distributions
- Develop high fidelity synthetic data frameworks across sensor
modalities
- Optimize ML-powered validation of data quality and model
readinessTheAutonomy Evaluation team works closely with the
Autonomy ML teams on one of the main challenges in autonomous
driving: measuring and improving the quality of NuroDriver, the
autonomous driving software. We develop evaluation systems that
assess the safety, compliance, and service quality of NuroDriver to
identify ways we can improve the performance of our ML and robotics
systems. As part of this team, you will perform the following
functions:
- Collaborate closely with the ML teams to develop targeted
evaluation algorithms powered by classical robotics (e.g. 3D
geometry or prediction algorithms), ML techniques (e.g. reward
modeling), or statistical methods (e.g. hypothesis testing).
- Develop the data pipelines that enable large scale data
simulation and transformations for high velocity and robust metric
computation.About You
- Recently graduated or soon-to-be-graduating BS/MS/PhD in
Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math or another
quantitative area.
- Experience in C++ or Python from past internships or academic
experience.
- Desire to develop impactful, applied solutions rather than
perform purely theoretical ML experimentation researchAt Nuro, your
base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this
