Job Description:
Our Cloud Platform Infrastructure team builds and operates
globally distributed private clouds for a diverse set of internal
and external users. Reliable and cost-effective operation of our
systems is critical to the success of our customers and Akamais
business. We help bring new customers onto the platform, and we
ensure they use it in the most effective way. Were looking for a
talented engineer to help us develop the next generation of our
cloud platforms. You will develop and support hypervisor software
as well as deployment, provisioning, control, and monitoring
systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible
for: • Designing and developing next-generation capabilities for
Akamais cloud platform • Enhancing existing monitoring and
provisioning interfaces • Troubleshooting problems with the
deployed system • Collaborating with the various testing,
operations, and development teams that work on our cloud platforms
Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: • Have 5
years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer
Science, or its equivalent • Have experience with the art of
writing maintainable, secure, and highly reliable code • Possess
experience with Python coding (some background in C/C++, Perl,
and/or Go would also be helpful) • Have hands-on experience with
Linux (including deep system knowledge in an area such as OS
principles, networking, or system internals) • Possess experience
with low-level complex software systems such as virtualization,
file systems, or any distributed systems • Be a team player with a
collaborative spirit, possessing solid written and verbal
