This role will demonstrate and apply principles and procedures associated with the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of custom embedded applications for the company's systems with a focus on progressive application software design and development. Provide prototype, new development, and maintenance programming support for new and existing custom embedded applications using traditional programming languages and state of the art development tools. Skills Embedded C / C++ Visual Studio Microcontroller-based embedded systems Serial, USB, Ethernet, CAN, or similar communication protocols Version control (Git preferred) Plus skills: C# (.NET Framework 4.x and later) Familiar with Altium Ability to read and interpret schematics and PCB layouts. Experience collaborating with electrical engineers on embedded hardware designs. What You Will Be Doing Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain program code/modules/objects/interfaces based on defined requirements and specifications. Develop and maintain system design, interface and program code documentation. Participate in program code walkthroughs and design reviews. Provide documentation and technical support for installation/rollout of custom embedded application software. Make formal presentations and provides software demonstrations. Prepare inputs to project status reports. Participate in full software development lifecycle. Employ configuration management tools to manage code development, implementation and test. Develop and implement software verification and validation plans. Lead or participate in the application of structured techniques and development methodologies to formulate software component architectures and software designs. Evaluate and recommend application development tools.
