neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh. The Role
Our generative AI-powered products are bringing joy back to the
practice of medicine, and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager
to lead our team in building Federal government-ready capabilities
and features . You’ll guide a group of US-based, full-stack
software engineers working on both frontend and backend
development, primarily in Typescript, React, NextJS, and Node. Your
team will work toward meeting and maintaining a high bar for
security and compliance requirements, which are heavily influenced
by federal government regulations and requirements. A strong focus
on robust architecture, secure deployment, and secure technical
operations is a must. What You’ll Do People Management: Recruit,
retain, and mentor engineers with full-stack expertise; experience
engineering in high sensitivity, federal environments is a huge
plus. Provide regular feedback; create opportunities for career
growth; and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Project Management: Work closely with stakeholders such as product
managers and customers to plan, execute, and support multiple
projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for the
engineering process in the team and the output of the team.
Technical Leadership: Help set business context for the team and
apply your knowledge of business and software engineering to guide
architectural discussions; anticipate and resolve technical
challenges; and advocate for technology projects. In close
partnership with Abridge's Security Organization, anticipate and
resolve technical challenges arising from government regulations
and requirements, managing sensitive data, and managing technical
operations within the bounds of federal requirements. Champion
Quality: Set a high standard for your team including software
quality, performance, reliability, security, and compliance with
industry and regulatory standards. What You’ll Bring A strong
technologist, with 5 years as a software engineer building web
applications in a cloud native environment and 2 years managing
software engineering teams. Comfortable giving constructive
feedback on technical designs and code reviews. Skilled in building
secure, compliant systems in major cloud platforms (GCP preferred,
AWS experience welcome). Familiar with containers, databases, and
modern frontend frameworks. Knowledgeable about the software
development lifecycle. You view processes such as Kanban and Scrum
as tools in a toolbox, and you know which tools to apply in which
situations. Skilled at hiring and mentorship, with a track record
of helping engineers grow their skills and careers. Up-to-date on
industry best-practices and tools, and enjoy learning new things

environment Bonus Points If… Experience as an engineering leader
working in the federal government OR as an engineering leader on a
team directly involved in products sold to the federal government.
Experience engineering systems within a FedRAMP Moderate / High
