Berkeley Lab s Nuclear Science (NS) Division is looking for a
Postdoctoral Fellow to join their Applied Nuclear Physics
In this role, you will engage in innovative applied research and
development with a diverse group of scientists and engineers across
the Lab to collaborate on the development of models and algorithms
for networked radiation detection and imaging systems.
What You Will Do:
Conduct original research into new analysis methodologies and
algorithms for radiation detection and mapping with networked
Participate in the development of advanced data fusion
Publish papers, reports, and proposals and make oral presentations
of original work.
Contribute to other group activities related to advanced radiation
What Is Required:
Recent Ph.D. in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline within the
last 5 years.
Demonstrated expertise in radiation detection and gamma-ray or
Demonstrated outstanding data analysis skills and proficiency in
C/C++ and/or Python.
Experience of algorithm development, signal processing, or
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
with demonstrated ability to perform research individually and as
part of a group.

This is a full time, exempt from overtime pay (monthly paid), 1
year postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of renewal based
upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds
