Supporting Community Healthcare is a rewarding role. LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a temporary COVID Program Coordinator in Berkeley. The COVID Program Coordinator works closely with the COVID Program Manager to coordinate and expand LifeLong’s COVD-19 vaccine and testing services at LifeLong health centers, pop-up community sites, and in-home/congregate care settings.


This is a temporary (6 months, with possibility of extension), exempt, full time, benefit eligible position, with regular weekend work. This position will require a hybrid of remote and in-person duties.


Compensation: $28/hour.

  • Manages staffing schedules for COVID-19 vaccine clinics and testing sites, in coordination with operations team and clinical staff. Communicates schedules to relevant staff and leadership.
  • Oversees onboarding and scheduling of volunteers at vaccine clinics.
  • Works closely with Center Managers / Supervisors and Site Leads at vaccine clinics.
  • Provides leadership and assistance in troubleshooting specific issues that arise at vaccine and testing sites, ensuring smooth operations on the ground.
  • Supports development and implementation of expansion of vaccine services to community sites, reaching underserved neighborhoods in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
  • Works with community partners to develop and maintain vaccine schedules for congregate care and other community settings.
  • Monitors scheduling templates of multi-dose and single-dose vaccine clinics to maximize reaching the greatest number of patients.
  • Utilizes Electronic Health Records to schedule in-home vaccine appointments, including pre-screening and registering patients.
  • Coordinates driving route and patient scheduling for in-home vaccine services. Manages cancelations and re-routes mobile team as needed.
  • Coordinates vaccine supply in collaboration with Pharmacy and Operations teams. Orders and maintains other supply inventory as needed.
  • Elicits and incorporates feedback from employees involved in COVID testing and vaccinations.
  • Attends and presents at COVID-19 logistics and operations meetings relevant to program development.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications – which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint – and other web-based applications and health information technology.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
  • Conduct oneself in internal and external settings in a way that reflects positively on LifeLong Medical Care as an organization of professional, confident, and sensitive staff.
  • Ability to see how one’s work intersects with that of other departments at LifeLong Medical Care and that of other partner organizations.

Job Requirements & Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in health administration, public health or relevant field;
  • AND/OR 3+ years’ experience in healthcare services or non-profit social services; community health a plus.
  • Baseline knowledge of disease prevention and treatment programs, risk stratification, targeted outreach; statistical analysis a plus.
  • Working knowledge of community health problems including social and economic factors relating to health.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
  • Ability to commit to 40 hours per week, including regular weekend work, and consistent attendance.
  • Access to a vehicle is strongly preferred.
