At Bayer you have the opportunity to be part of a culture where we value the passion of our employees to innovate and give them the power to change.Raw Matl Inspector IIIYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role, Raw Material Inspector III, are to:Inspect Raw Materials using functional testing devices, micrometers, calipers or gauges, optical comparators, profile projectors and/or other analytical devices;Determine sample size and accept/reject criteria by operating an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) Slide Rule;Identify and classify defects by type;Use statistical tools and arithmetic calculations, limit samples and written procedures to base the decision of acceptance or rejection of raw materials;Evaluate inspection results vs specification;Record/Enter inspection results into SAP;Use aseptic technique, sample chemicals and other materials, maintain sterility/low Bioburden-endotoxin state of samples and parent container(s), complete necessary records and submit for laboratory analysis as required;Maintain work area and equipment to current Good Manufacturing Practices standards;Maintain specifications and inspection and retain sample files and logs;Perform other related duties as assigned.WHO YOU AREYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent;At least one year of college-level mathematics and statistics course or equivalent ability to be able to use statistical sampling plans such as ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, to navigate an AQL slide rule accurately and to be able to perform calculations such as ratios and percentages;Knowledge of Aseptic technique and attention to detail are essential;Code advancement based on successful curriculum completion, OJTs and passing associated assessments;Work weekends, holidays and overtime as required;Acceptable attendance and performance;Be able to work both independently/self-directed with minimal supervision and in a team environment;Read, write, speak and comprehend English in order to understand written and verbal instructions, SOPs, BPRs, etc.;Good verbal and written communication skills;Extensive data entry;Be able to follow detailed written procedures and maintain neat, accurate and legible written records;Be able to understand and interpret detailed records and specifications;Be able to visualize labels, print quality and very fine font clarity of print and be able to discern very subtle color variations;Pass annual eye exam for visual inspectors;Be able to manipulate cases weighing up to 49 lbs., push 300+ lbs. of material on a wheeled cart;Be able to identify color-coded labels;Bending, stooping, carrying, standing, kneeling and exposure to temperatures as cold as -30C;Be able to withstand frequent repetitive movement, stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing (ladders) and sitting;Be able to wear protective clothing (PPE) and C class gowning as required;Meet Occupational Demands/Physical Requirement checklist.Preferred Qualifications:Courses in Microbiology and Chemistry;Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, clinical or Quality Control working environment;SAP experience.YOUR APPLICATIONBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
