As Head of People Operations, you will report directly to the COO. You will carry out operational and strategic efforts in several areas related to our people. As part of these efforts, you will collaborate with a talented, accomplished, and experienced group of colleagues from a variety of functions in machine learning, finance, and technology. You will lead our small, tight-knit People Operations team. Your efforts will help shape the future of our organization. This role is a means to make a difference: you will engage in some of our highest-priority organizational efforts, and you will convert ideas into tangible results. (Currently, the most senior member of your team is our Senior Manager of Human Resources who will collaborate with you in many of the areas below.) Strategic Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic programs at Voleon in key areas, such as people analytics, employee engagement, career development, performance, ongoing learning/skill development, office space, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on culture-related initiatives, diversity-related initiatives, employee communication initiatives, etc. Operational Responsibilities
    • Provide operational leadership and hands-on contributions in core human resource-related functions, such as compensation, benefits, employee relations, documentation, etc.
    • Implement and oversee support programs for current employees
    • Implement and oversee support programs for prospective employees
    • Oversee HR-related legal/regulatory topics in coordination with external and internal counsel, including immigration, employment-related areas, etc. Additional Responsibilities
      • Manage a team of talented Human Resources colleagues, including a Senior Manager of Human Resources
      • Work with our recruiting team before sourcing (i.e., job specifications, etc.) and after hiring (i.e., consistent candidate-to-employee experience, etc.)
      • Compile, own, and manage key People Operations-related metrics
      • Oversee office management for our facilities, which span across multiple buildings
      • Work with our legal/compliance and finance teams to oversee legal and regulatory topics that relate to People Operations Requirements
        • At least five years of experience in senior People Operations-related leadership roles
        • Experience in scaling an organization as Head of People or in a similar capacity
        • Familiarity with Federal labor laws, California labor laws, and labor laws in other jurisdictions
        • Expertise in compensation benchmarking is a plus
        • Expertise in learning and development is a plus
