Job Description:

Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) is seeking 3 Summer Teaching Assistants to engage elementary-aged girls and teach hands-on STEM activities in-person at public school hubs in Richmond, Berkeley, and Emeryville. You will work with a Head Teacher who leads the class. These positions are in-person and require you to be vaccinated. Check-out what our classes look like: COMMITMENT: 25 - 30 hrs / week Temporary: start on Monday June 13, 2022 and end on Friday July 22, 2022 Core work hours will be approximately 12:00pm - 6:00pm. Classes will be 4 days a week, either Mon - Thurs or Tues - Friday (depending on holidays), and will be decided upon by SAFG. You will serve at 1 school hub during the summer assignment. COMPENSATION: $19 - $22 per hour (dependent on experience) RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Head Teacher to deliver fun, engaging project-based STEM activities on site at elementary schools Promote the mission and scientist mindset of SAfG in each class QUALIFICATIONS: Working towards a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree A minimum of one year of experience with children in some capacity Commitment to educational equity and programming for girls Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy and enthusiasm For in-person teaching: valid driver's license and reliable car HOW TO APPLY: Interested candidates should click on this link to apply: SAfG is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
