Position: Head Student Advisor
Location: Berkeley
Reports to: Assistant Program Director
Employment Status: Full-time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Who We Are
The College Internship Program (CIP) is a private young adult
transition program for individuals 18-26 years old with autism,
ADHD, and other learning differences offering comprehensive and
specialized services.
CIP's programs uniquely address the needs of young adults with
learning differences by focusing on the generalization of skills
while living within a community of peers in a supported apartment
living environment. Each student's unique needs are met
individually as they transition to independent living, college, and
employment.
CIP is one of the most comprehensive programs in the world
empowering young adults with learning differences to succeed in
college, employment, and independent living. We strive to challenge
the norms of what people with learning differences can achieve.

What you'll do
Oversee, develop, and enable advisors to deliver program and
service excellence
Reinforce student's path on the continuum of growth from
self-awareness through self-determination
Monitor all student progress through goal achievement and progress
reporting
Apprise families, external professionals and CIP staff of student
progress in support of the assigned advisor
Promote and encourage student engagement by utilizing Advising
Processes and Tools
Coordinate with CIP team to determine appropriate supports that
assist students in a way unique to their needs
Write and coordinate Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and
Semi-Annual Progress reports

What you've accomplished
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology,
Social Work, Education, or a related field
Proficient with office utility computer software programs and a
quick learner in new technologies
Experience in the field of autism and/or learning disabilities
Special education and/or advising background, particularly at the
higher education level
