visit . Departmental Overview The Berkeley School of Education at
the University of California is home to a diverse group of students

who transform public education especially for marginalized and

for this job is: 08/22/2023. Responsibilities Administrative
Operations (40%)
- Serves as a resource on BSE policies and procedures to
Assistant Dean and Directors within the Leadership Programs.
- Serves as a point of contact for the leadership program
academic and administrative staff human resource action.
- Regularly consults and collaborates with BSE human resources on
staff job posting, academic appointment, and student hiring.
- Collaborates with Berkeley Way West Facilities to initiates
office/cubicle moves & repairs, equipment installations.
- Collaborates with student services to submit and monitor PLI
and LEAD student scholarship distributions.
- Liaises with BSE Business Services Office to ensure proper
expense/payroll allocations on Leadership Funds.
- Liaises with BSE IT for IT issues, such as new hire computer
set ups both on-campus and remote.
- Analyzes and coordinates work space assignments, needs, and
relocations.
- Develops and monitors internal administrative processes for
efficiency and effectiveness. Recharges, Invoicing (15%)
- Performs recharge administration for purchases made with team
Event Planner card Prepares documentation for team purchases made
with Leadership Program Blu Card.
- Manages monthly invoicing and interacts with local school
districts, international clients, as well as vendors. Contracts and
Agreements (15%)
- Liaises with campus contracts and grants office on domestic and
international agreements and grants.
- Provides input into non-technical portions of service
agreements and contracts in conjunction with Assistant Dean and
Directors.
- Creates draft campus contracts in consultation with Assistant
Dean and Directors of Leadership Programs.
- Liaises with outside entities regarding campus contracts. Human
Resources and Supervision (15%)
- Consults with the Assistant Dean and project and program
directors to assess and support staffing and personnel needs,
including the following:
- Trains, mentors and develops direct reports.
- Conducts regular check-in meetings/conversations with direct
reports and delivers performance reviews in accordance with campus
policies.
- Leads and develops Leadership Programs specific internal new
hire onboarding process supervises Operations Team members and/or
Leadership Program student assistants.
- Develops metrics for assessing successful execution of job
responsibilities and holds direct reports accountable for achieving
goals.
- Conducts regular check-in meetings/conversations with direct
reports and delivers performance reviews in accordance with campus
policies.
- Develops and implements performance improvement plans,
including execution of disciplinary actions, as needed. Other
Duties (15%)
- Serves on BSE committees, representing department/unit as
needed and by request.
- Acts as safety coordinator for the Leadership Program team as
needed.
- Professional development. Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of and/or can quickly learn University rules and
regulations, processes, protocols, and procedures for budget,
accounting, and fund management, and/or personnel management.
- Strong Interpersonal skills including verbal and written
communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness,
advising and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities
such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk
management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and
contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
- Solid knowledge of commonly used computer application
programs.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, Google Drive.
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis,
problem-solving, and customer service.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting
techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for
staff and academic employees.
- Strong organization and project management skills Salary &
Benefits This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career
position, which is paid monthly and eligible for full UC Benefits.

compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary
outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range
takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in
making compensation decisions including but not limited to
experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and
certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and
organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be
offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
Salary offers are determined based on final candidate
qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary or hourly range
that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is
