The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,259 - $76,814.Percent time:
Summer Sessions Lecturers are appointed at 11% in part-time positions that are weighed at 50%. Lecturers can teach more than one course at a time.Anticipated start:
Summer appointments begin in the third week of May and run into mid August.Review timeline:

Applications will continue to be accepted until this date, but those received after the review date will only be considered if the position has not yet been filled.Position DescriptionThe Division of Arts and Humanities at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a pool of outstanding lecturers to teach Digital Humanities using data science tools to teach online courses in the Digital Humanities Summer Minor.In addition to instruction, general duties include holding office hours, developing syllabi and assignments, writing and grading exams, and grading and commenting on papers. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.Specifically, we are looking for lecturers for the following courses in our program:

  • DIGHUM 101 Practicing the Digital Humanities
  • DIGHUM 150B Digital Humanities and Visual and Spatial Analysis
  • DIGHUM 160 Critical Digital HumanitiesThe incumbent can draw on our existing syllabi and materials for these courses, or develop and propose their own.QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application)
    Master's degree (or equivalent international degree).Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
    For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by start date of the position. The Department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.Preferred qualifications
    A background in digital humanities and the relevant field is strongly preferred. College level teaching experience in the relevant field is also preferred.Application RequirementsDocument requirements
