NurtureSource Homes is a Berkeley based design and renovation company that is committed to helping clients maximize the value of their homes through the power of design. We mainly serve the East Bay but are rapidly expanding to encompass San Francisco and the North Bay as well. This is a very exciting time to come aboard and be part of a dynamic team of talented professionals who are transforming the way people think about buying and selling their homes.In this role, the Interior Designer will support the Design Team and work directly with our clients to create truly extraordinary spaces. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, is an excellent multi-tasker, is comfortable interfacing directly with clients, is adaptable, and has the experience, patience, and understanding to help guide our clients through all phases of the renovation lifecycle. You will be selecting fixture and finishing options such as countertops, cabinets, tile, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and wall colors.
Our Lead Designer can train and assist you in reaching your professional development goals but is in need of a strong, proactive, forward-thinking Interior Designer that can independently manage a challenging and ever-changing workload. Please note, this is not an interior decorating/furnishing role.
We are seeking someone who would like to harmoniously balance their creative talents with the ability to be highly organized, communicate effectively, be detail-oriented, and manage the workflow to keep up with our fast-paced project schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

  • Attend all design-related meetings such as Discovery Meetings with clients, Project Management meetings, and Initial Project Kickoffs. Capture meeting details in notes and take action as necessary in accordance with the Lead Designer.
  • Walk clients through the design process from start to finish by creating mood boards to present design aesthetics, make revisions as necessary to gain approval, and develop plans as necessary - Electrical, elevations, etc.
  • Assist Project Management through the construction phase with procurement needs, provide spec sheets and product specifications, regular site visits, and manage client communication.
  • Create customer-facing floor plans and construction documents
  • Work with color consultant to coordinate colors w/ specified FFE for the project
  • Specify fixtures and finishes typically required in interior design and coordinate with procurement to ensure all item orders have been accounted for and will arrive in a timely manner
    • Personal Learning: Takes personal responsibility for the continuous learning of new knowledge, skills, and experiences

      Skills and Qualifications:
      • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of interior design or architectural design; Higher education in Interior design/architecture or related field
      • Demonstrates knowledge of the renovation process
      • Proficiency with any of the following software: AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, 2020 Design. (Bluebeam, Sketchup & Photoshop are a plus)
      • AutoCAD (Sketchup & Photoshop a plus!)
      • Ability to efficiently coordinate with project teams and outside vendors on multiple projects simultaneously
      • Experience interfacing directly with clients
      • Proficient in creating/ maintaining/ organizing Google docs (especially Sheets)
      • Positive attitude and ability to manage timelines for multiple projects.
      • Independent and flexible growth mindset and ability to quickly respond to changes as they occur
      • Ability to navigate ambiguity, and think creatively to provide solutions to challenging problems
      • Reliable mode of transportation with valid drivers license
        Compensation:This role is a full time, permanent position in office, and includes a competitive salary, paid time off, technology package and travel reimbursements.
