visit . Departmental Overview University Development and Alumni
Relations (UDAR) strengthens Berkeley's excellence through
engagement with alumni, parents, undergraduate and graduate
students, and friends of the university, raising public awareness
about Berkeley and increasing private philanthropy. UDAR provides
overall direction for the campus's philanthropic advancement
strategies and works to strengthen unit development in partnership
with campus fundraisers. The division handles a range of central
activities and services encompassing communications, stewardship,
prospect development, gift management, and more. Advancement
Information Services Unit Advancement Information Services develops
and delivers the centralized business systems and services that
support the work of UC Berkeley's 30 decentralized fundraising
units-helping them collaborate and communicate in order to maximize
their collective results. Advancement Information Services provides
governance through its roles as the campus office of advancement
policy, as the delegated authority for managing charitable gifts,
and as the official source of alumni and fundraising data. The unit
offers services that include biographic data maintenance and
enhancement, advancement training, and help-desk support.
Advancement Information Services also oversees information
technology systems and tools, including the Cal Advancement Data
System (CADS), the database in which advancement professionals
research and record fundraising activity. Advancement Information
Services encompasses three units: Data Quality and Management,
Information Technology, and Planning and Analysis. Data Quality and
Management Unit Data Quality and Management (DQM) is the office of
record for biographic/demographic information related to alumni and
donors of UC Berkeley. DQM helps the advancement community meet
programmatic and campaign goals by providing accurate, complete
data that documents the campus's relationship with its
constituents. DQM archives, enhances, and manages the data and
delivers it through efficient processes and effective systems in a
secure environment. In addition, DQM works with campus units to
provide meaningful information about that data through reporting
services. Position Overview The Data Systems Analyst 2 uses data
management concepts. Applies department and campus methodologies,
policies and procedures to resolve a variety of data management
issues. Works on data management problems of moderate scope and
complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review
of a variety of factors. The Data Systems Analyst 2 will work
closely with the Associate Director, assists and supports the
